Nebraska Life Magazine is looking for talented Writing & Photography Correspondents to help us cover Nebraska for our bimonthly print magazine subscribers. We write entertaining stories about the people, places, history, culture and communities of our state. Our subscribers are residents of Nebraska who want to know and understand our state better.

Writing applicants should have a portfolio that demonstrates their ability for crisp, clean and concise copy with lively anecdotes and colorful quotations. Photography applicants should have experience shooting feature stories for print publications. Can you do both writing and photography? Even better!

Our Writing & Photography Correspondents are contract positions paid by the word and photo published.

Director of Business Development / Advertising at Colorado Life

Colorado Life Magazine is seeking a Director of Business Development / Advertising to join our team! You will be responsible for overseeing and developing print advertising sales revenue for Colorado Life and related media products in our market. You’ll work with community and business leaders across the state in tourism, hospitality, events, recreation, small businesses and marketing agencies.

We’re looking for an experienced leader with a deep love of Colorado who is excited for a long-term career in the magazine publishing industry.


  • Oversee, plan and coordinate advertising sales activities for six bimonthly magazine issues
  • Strategize and organize sale marketing campaigns – including lists, direct-mail campaigns and email marketing campaigns
  • Send proposals to advertisers by email
  • Communicate with prospects and clients by mail, phone, email and in-person visits
  • Write and deliver sales pitches and proposals
  • Enter notes, proposals, contracts and other data into CRM database
  • Oversee CRM database
  • Build and form new partnerships with potential clients
  • Track results and trends for business forecasting
  • Build and manage a sale team
  • Set quotas, goals and objectives
  • Report on sales performance
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure client success

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3-5 years sales experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, marketing, journalism, advertising, integrated media communications, or related fields of study
  • Background in advertising and marketing preferred (agency, radio, newspaper, magazines, digital marketing, etc.)
  • Management experience
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong business marketing skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients

Customer Service Representative at Colorado Life

Are you outgoing, organized and an excellent communicator? Colorado Life Magazine in Windsor is hiring Customer Service Representatives for our magazine publishing business. Our CSRs are service, sales and communication experts who help our customers place and fulfill their subscription and advertising orders. This is a part-time position with flexible hours to work around family and school schedules - 20-30 hours per week.


  • Answer phones and provide customer support for magazine subscribers
  • Reply to incoming emails from advertisers
  • Send proposals to advertisers by email
  • Call advertiser customers and help them place their orders
  • Assist with past-due accounts receivable collections
  • Gather advertising materials, write ad copy, and communicate ad design information to designers
  • Liase between advertisers and designers to complete advertisements for publication


  • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Organizational skills
  • Professional email skills
  • Degree a plus: Bachelor’s or associates degree in communications, business administration, sales and marketing, advertising, English, teaching, journalism, etc.
